Each capsule contains:
Azithromycin dehydrate equivalent to:
Azithromycin (anhydrous) USP 500 mg.
Description:
Azithromycin is an azalide, a subclass of macrolide antibiotics which has a similar antimicrobial spectrum as erythromycin, but is more effective against certain gram-negative bacteria. It acts by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible microorganisms and, thus, interfering with microbial protein synthesis.
